Even after much of the mold and algae die of, there may still be a black or gray color muck left in its place.

Typically it is from this most condensate systems fail, and do damage to machinery and/or flooring, as the process takes place. The drain system can clog and cause systems to backup and overflow.

Growth inhibitor is meant to stop blockage from forming in the drainage systems (by natural means)
